I’m nearly 16 and I just paid and sent off for my provisional moped license. Am I right in saying that once I have my provisional license, done my CBT and I am 16 I will be allowed to drive on-road?
I’ve never ridden a moped or motorbike before, will I need to practise before I do the CBT?
Oh, and how much will the minimal amount of insurance cost? (I’ll be getting a cheap £100-£200 moped)
Cheers.
The CBT instructors will train you in everything you need to know to be safe on the road, taking “lessons” from other riders can pass on bad habits, what you should do is learn the Highway code, try to memorise the road signs, the braking distances etc.
Insurance is impossible to guess, it all depends on age, where you live, where you will be parking the moped etc.
To get a moped that cheap you might be looking at a Chinese model or an old shonker, you might want to take somebody who knows about engines with you to buy it.
