how does it all work?? do they judge by the modle make or what?
Im nearly 18 and i want to get a CBR 250cc so what group would that be in? plus how can you find out which 250cc bike is the cheapest to insure???

Thanks

The insurance groups that I think you refer to were developed by Norwich Union nearly 20 years ago and they still use them today as a guide.

Other Insurance companies are not obliged to follow them and can use their own rating system to calculate your insurance premium. So some bikes that NU rate as group 4 may be rated as group 3 or 5 by another insurer.

Always shop around for your premium as this is the best way to get the cheapest quote
