Insuring a motorbike in Ireland or UK?

by Scooter Insurance on April 2, 2010

I was looking to get a bike because I am 16 now, I would love an RS50 of course but it its high running cost and insurance. I want to keep costs to a minimum so I am thinking Yamaha TZR 50. Has anyone any bikes that would be cheap to run, as it’s for getting in and of work.

Also, where can I get it insured in Ireland, one of my mates says he got monthly insurance, can you really do it monthly? Who is cheapest?

Cheers, Kev

if yor going to stay at 50cc you might aswell stick with mopeds, you should find a decent bike with gears and all that jazz at 80cc though?it can be regulated for the insuranc aswell. insurance like anything nowadays can be done monthly but been your first time it might have a big ballon payment at the start like 500 up front then 120 monthly now thats only an example,if you can,get a country address, somewhere nice and remote coz if it cant get robbed easy the insuranc will be cheaper, quinn is the cheapest for cars i dunno if it does bikes, carol nash is the cheapest for full licence holders on bikes, but i,m sure if you google it you’ll find a cheap quote,i think tesco an all are doing insurance
