I am buying a 50 cc classic style moped and was wondering if I have to get my license and insurance.?

I am buying a 50 cc classic style moped and I don’t want to get my license or insurance. I also would like to ride it on the sidewalk. Could someone give me some answers? Living in Brazoria County, Texas.

I own a 50cc yamaha. In Texas you do not need a Class M endorsement if the moped in under 50cc. Most mopeds are 49cc even though they say 50cc.

The insurance is very cheap. I have full coverage and I pay $200 a year.

Is it required to have a drivers license and insurance to ride a moped in the state of north carolina?
