When you pass your cbt, do you have to get insurance to ride the moped about, and what’s the best way?

by Scooter Insurance on March 9, 2010

Basically just asking, if you have your prov. license and cbt certificate can you jump straight on your moped or do you have to buy insurance, tax etc, how do you do it?

once youve passed your cbt you can not ride with out insurance highly illegal go to a comparison insurancwe website like youve most likely seen on tv and type all your bikes information in and your personal information in and it will find you the cheapest insurance… tax is also a illegal thing not to have you should have a tax disc on your bike somewhere if not go to the post office and find a motorcycle tax renewal form and fill that it and you will also need an m.o.t to make sure that your bike is road safe it should say on the documents that you got with your bike when it runs out if not just google where you nearest and cheapest m.o.t station is and book ahead and you can legaly ride the bike down there just aslong as youve booked it and have insurance hope this helps

How much was your moped insurance at the age of 16?

If you ride any motor vehicle on the road, whether you’ve passed your test or not then you will need insurance and tax.

Insurance: you’ll need to go to a comparison website or a broker and they’ll sort you out – it’s very easy. Opt for ‘fully comprehensive’ if you can afford it but failing that ‘third party, fire and theft’. You’ll need this to get your tax disc.

Tax: you’ll need to go to the post office armed with your log book, insurance and current MOT. If you want tax for a moped it’ll be £15 per year.

Once you’ve got those things (and a helmet) the road is yours.

Ride carefully though, there a lot of nutters about!

Hello

You will have to have used the course Mopeds as
A) You could not ride yours there.
B) You cannot ride yours on the CBT course as it includes riding on the road
C) You must have Insurance and MOT (Unless less than 3 years old) and then you can get the Tax disk bofore you can ride it on the road at all
And you wil not get Insurance without the CBT course Pass Certificate number.
