Used to have this great classic rock station here in Bend, Oregon. It played great stuff like this, UFO, Montrose, Van Halen, Rush, ZZ Top, Sabbath, all the good stuff. Listened to it for 28 years. Some fool turned it into a talk station a few years ago, and I was pissed. Now when I awake in the morning, i hear Glenn Beck’s disgusting voice speaking. What is this nation coming too?

@16penney Straight on that one, man! I remember this one fondly. I was 10 at the time and maybe a few years out of the target age group, but my mom was really into rock and this song and others made their way into my eardrums.
Not sureif you know or not, but the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal legends Raven did a cover of Montrose’s “Space Station # 5″ on their new album, “Walk Through Fire.” Not a bad cover really, in that manic Gallagher brothers-Raven sort of way!

@mrbag60 Very true indeed! I saw many shows around the Broadway district (i.e. The Stone, Old Waldorf, Chi Chi Club, Mabuhay Gardens, etc.), and out of these venues emerged Bay Area goups like Montrose and Journey, who lead the way and are still kickin’ it into high gear today
